Social Networking with a Difference

I finally folded, and created a Facebook account.  I couldn’t understand why friends were so addicted to using the site, but now I sort of understand.  Very clever idea allowing plug-in applications; I’ve been playing scrabble and blogger for at least a couple of hours.

Interestingly what this has done is to get me out of my desk chair and search for our board games.  I had a fantastic time with the family last night turning off the TV (and computer), and playing scrabble - yes, real, live scrabble.  We had a great night and didn’t get to bed until 1am.

Its not going to turn me off using Facebook, but it does put things in perspective - why are we playing games against people we don’t know from around the world, when we have a wealth of real interaction just through the study door??
